The Ferris Wheel Story: Healing a Childhood Trauma

The following conversation took place in 2007 between my mother and me, three years after she died.

Irene: I'd like to share another experience with you that's been resolved and healed.

Beba: I'd like to hear about it.

Irene: As part of a Spiritual Psychology self-counseling session, I revisited an experience I had when I was seven.

We had just moved into the new house on…

Healing A Childhood Trauma

The following conversation took place in 2007 between my mother and me, three years after she died.  It's an excerpt from my book, Conversations with Jerry . . . and Other People I Thought Were Dead: Seven compelling dialogues that will transform the way you think about dying and living.

Irene: I'd like to share another experience with you that I've resolved and healed.

Beba: I'd like to hear about it.

TEDx Charlottesville Talk

It was an honor to be among the twenty-four speakers chosen to present at TEDx Charlottesville Open Mic Night on October 13, 2014. With four minutes to share, here's what I said:

"Death. It's inevitable. There's not a single person in this theater or on this planet who isn't going to die. We all assume this to be true. But, what if it's not?

My exploration of death officially began in October 2006 when…

Good Day,

How is everything with you, I picked interest on you after going through your short profile and deemed it necessary to write you immediately. I have something very vital to disclose to you, but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site.Could you please get back to me on:(mr.frankkwabena00@gmail.com ) for the full details.

Have a nice day

Thanks God bless.

Mr Frank.

Dear Irene:

I have MS (~20 years).  A friend gave me your book and as I began to read (Jerry chapter 5 and on), I realized that I have the skills to heal myself and that I need only to wake up to remember what I am here for and I will be all that i am to be.  After reading for a few hours, I stood up and discovered I remembered how to walk again.  I began lifting my left foot higher and higher and I was able to actually make a small jump in the air!  I read on and Jared's conversation really struck me.  "My body wasn't the cause of the pain; it was me experiencing my body that was the cause" (p. 114).  I have since, gone on to live the lessons I learned from your conversations and my health has improved - my mobility issues have improved.  I actually have come to believe that there is more that can be done to help others heal themselves too.  I wonder if Jerry and the others you spoke with would be willing to help us, or me, pursue this avenue to get more information on how humans can live more comfortably in our human state?  I know that my purpose in this life is to heal myself and teach others to do the same.  I have been using your work to try to pull out that information for others but feel like there may be more if we ask Jerry or Jared et al.  Is this something you would be willing to speak with me about?  Thank you.

Sincerely,

Sharon Bertrand

Thanks, Irene for the response! You have a wonderful husband who is your biggest fan. I am really looking forward to receiving the book. Tell Charlie when I see him in September at the Oracle conference I am looking forward to sharing my thoughts with him. Also, the order said I was receiving signed copies. I hope so. If for some reason they aren't signed, I will ask Charlie to get them personalized - since he has an 'in'. I hope to meet you some day. Once in a while I travel to DC for meetings and maybe we can arrange a dinner. all the best! Pat

Hi Irene ! congratulations on your book - - once I buy a copy, I'd like to send it to you for a personalized autograph. any chance for that? my mom died suddenly and unexpectedly on May 4 (massive stroke - think she wanted to make sure her exit was permanent) and josh said that your book would be very timely.

Hi Irene,

Thanks for writing to me; I couldn't find contact info on the site until you wrote, but I am glad you personally read my message.

Our mutual friend has been in my life for 25 years and I adore his wisdom and viewpoint. He surprised me with a signed copy of your book as a gift. I was transfixed and couldn't put it down until I was finished with it.

A week later I scheduled a session with Jana Anna which was unbelievably healing!
I'm glad you and your book happened into my life.

I have a soul-centered coaching session scheduled with you and I cannot wait!

Hi, Irene. Thanks for your comment, and support! I'd love to have a chat sometime... in fact, I signed up for a session with you ;) Why don't you just call me when it's convenient for you, and we'll go from there.

Blessings of Joy, Dancing heart~~~
